Terra ran as far and as fast as she could. She ran to a small flower shop and she leaned over to catch her breath. She looked up and realized that it was dark. “I’m gonna be murdered.” Terra moaned and she looked for a place to hide. She saw a small bookshop and she ran inside.

  Terra walked in, as she walked in a small bell tinkled above her head and she looked at the books. She found one she thought that might be interesting and she sat at a small table that was hidden by a book shelf. She read it for a few minutes before the bell at the door tinkled and Terra heard people enter. The clanking of metal told her that it was Ed and Al.

“Damnit! This is ridiculous! He yells at us when it was her that knocked him out and then he sends us after her!” Terra heard Ed’s outraged voice growl.

“Yeah but that man said he saw her run this way so maybe we’ll find her.” Terra heard Al said.

“When I find her I’m going to break all of her limbs and fold her up. Then I’m going to put her in a box and send her first-class to Mustang.” Ed growled and Terra winced.

  Terra felt very faint suddenly and she uttered a small moan. “Not now! That escape must have warred me out!” Terra thought to herself as she swayed on the spot.

“What was that Brother?”

“It sounded like….” Ed said walking behind the shelf and seeing Terra.

  A soon as he set eyes on Terra and she saw him she made a small squeaking nose. Then everything went black as fell to the ground.
  The next morning around four Terra drifted to consciousness and her eyes fluttered open. Her body felt heavy as she sat up and looked around at a pitch black room. A thick blanket was tucked tightly around her and someone had taken off her outer clothes. She put her hand on her head and groaned. Movement was heard from somewhere in the room and she felt someone come close to her.

“Are you all right?” Came Ed’s voice from the darkness and she could make out his outline. Ed grabbed a hold of Terra’s arm and she lead him next to her on whatever she was sleeping on.

“Yeah…” Terra said and she was generally confused. “Why didn’t you turn me into Mustang?”

“You were hurt.” Ed said and a flush creeped up his neck in the darkness. “I-I didn’t want to turn you in if you couldn’t put up a fight.”

“O-oh thanks…” Terra said and her eyes adjusted to the darkness. She could make out Ed’s face and she could tell that he was blushing. “Where are we?”

“We’re in my dorm.” Ed said and he chuckled. “Your in my bed.”

“Oh! Sorry!” Terra said trying to get out of the bed but Ed pushed her back onto the bed.

“No its ok. You need to stay in bed and rest.” Ed said.

“But I’m fine now.” Terra said trying to sit up but Ed held her down.

“No your not.” Ed said. “I can tell by how weakly your resisting.”

“I wouldn’t be resisting if you’d let me up.” Terra said but Ed didn’t let go. “If I’m in your bed then where’re you sleeping?”

“On the couch.” Ed said chuckling.

“Ed! I shouldn’t even be in your dorm let alone in you bed.” Terra said and Ed held back a snort. “I do have my own place.”

“I don’t mind really.” Ed said letting go of her. “If your not here Mustang will find you. He’s sent out more people after you, so I suggest you stay…”

“But…” Terra sighed and Ed smiled. “At least let me switch you spots.”

“No.” Ed said stubbornly while he thought, “I feel responsible for her weakness…and she’s so nice… “Now lay back down and get to sleep. Tomorrow I’m going to have to take you to Mustang.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Terra said with another sigh.

“Yeah I know. I’m just a heartless, blood craving Dog right?” Ed said.

“I guess I was wrong about you Ed.” Terra smiled as she could make out Ed turning red. “You may be a dog but….but you’re more of a stray.”

“You can say that again.” Ed said sitting on the edge of the bed. “So why don’t you want to join the military?”

“I don’t know…I don’t want to be a dog with a leash.” Terra said.

“You wouldn’t be a dog.” Ed said. “You would be more of a puppy with only a collar. Your pocket watch.”

“Heh.” Terra said looking down. “So why did you join the military?”

“We’re after the stone.” Ed said remembering Mustang say something about it but he kept his mouth shut.

“Small world.” Terra said and there was a stretched silence.

“You know what I think?” Ed said and he didn’t wait for an answer. “I think that you should let the guards take you to Mustang and then agree to be a State Alchemist.”

“What?” Terra said.

“You heard me.” Ed said. “Tell him you’ll join on a couple conditions. One: You get all the information on the stone. Two: Your automatically ranked as a Major. Three: No exam And four….” Ed hesitated.

“Four?” Terra said sounding amused.

“Four: You get a partner. Me.” Ed said and Terra turned red in the dark room. “I’ll even tell him if you want.”

“You want me as a partner?” Terra asked.

“Yeah. You must be good since you can use alchemy without a transmutation circle.” Ed said. “Besides, I doubt that I’m going to argue with you and we’re both after the same thing.”

“Maybe your right Ed….”

“I know I am.”

“Hehe…”

“What?”

“Nothing. What makes you think I want you as a partner?”

“Well….I’m awesome.”

“Oh brother.”
