They talked until it got light out and neither of them seemed affected by fatigue. Terra had decided to become a State Alchemist if the offer was still open. Not too long after they told Al what they were going to  they left the dorm and started walking around Central. They were only on the road for a few minutes before Breda found them and Terra didn’t even put up a fight. He took them back to HQ and to Mustang’s office.

“Roy.” Terra said standing in front of his office. Ed and Al were sitting on the ugly couches behind her.

“Terra.” Mustang said sitting behind his desk with his hands clasped. “Last night would be the ninth time correct?”

“Bingo.” Terra said crossing her arms and Ed sneered.

“Why? Why wont you just become a State Alchemist?” Mustang asked.

“Last night….I actually considered it…..” Terra said looking at her nails and yawning quietly.

“You did?” Mustang said hopefully.

“But…there…are…” Terra said lowering her hands and looking Mustang in the eye. “Conditions.”

“Conditions? What conditions?” Mustang asked.

“Your going to have to talk to my lawyer. Ed?” Terra said and Ed stood next to her with a smile on his face.

“Yeah. I like these conditions.” Ed said. “One: She gets all the information on the stone. Two: She’s automatically ranked a Major. Three: No exam. Four: She becomes my partner. When she’s punished I go down with her and vice versa.”

“Done.” Mustang said straightening up. “Now I’ve already spoke to Fuhrer Bradley. He has your papers arranged and you are now the Thunderstorm Alchemist.” He handed her a pocket watch and she expected it. “You are officially a State Alchemist.”

“Hmm…….just doesn’t feel right……” Terra said and Mustang looked nervous. “Maybe it’s because I’ve finally done what I swore I’d never do.” Terra said tossing the pocket watch up in the air and catching it again. “Thanks Ed.”

“No problem.” Ed said smiling.

“You mean Ed talked you into this?” Mustang said in shock.

“Yeah, you owe him. Big time. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t even be here, so promote him or something because he deserves it.” Terra said looking at the door. “Are we dismissed now, Sir?”

“Yes. You may leave now.” Mustang said slightly paler.

“Come on Ed.” Terra said and she left the room.

“Good day sir.” Al said and they followed her out.

  As soon as Al shut the door behind them Terra turned around and hugged Ed. Ed froze in shock and he flushed. He left his arms down at his sides and he resisted the urge to return the embrace. Terra pulled away from Ed with a huge smile on her face. “Thanks Ed! Did you see face? Giving him what he wanted got him back three times as bad as yesterday!”

“Yeah.” Ed said turning his head away to hide the flush in his cheeks.

“I saw that Terra!” Havoc called to them as he walked towards them.

“What?” Terra asked when he reached them.

“You have a thing for Fullmetal!” Havoc said. Ed turned crimson and Terra turned pink.

“What are you talking about?” Al asked. “Is something going on I don’t know about?”

“Is it a secret?” Havoc asked. “I wont tell your Mom.”

“Shut up or I’ll zap you.” Terra said calmly.

“Eep!” Havoc said and out of nowhere all of Mustang’s subordinates popped up.

“I didn’t know that you were into guys like Fullmetal.” Breda said.
“I didn’t think you were old enough to even be into guys.” Fuery said.

“I didn’t think that you would ever look for a guy.” Falman said.

“Did I miss something?” Riza asked blinking

“No Mom.” Terra said handing Riza her pocket watch.

“Mom?!” Ed and Al yelped. Terra nodded.

“You didn’t?” Riza said.

“I did. Ed talked me into and that why I hugged him.” Terra said and she did not look happy anymore.

“Should we run now?” Fury asked.

“I would.” Terra said.

“Ahhh!” They all cried and they all sprinted down the hall except for Riza.

“So are you with Ed?” Riza asked narrowing her eyes.

“He’s my partner.” Terra said and Riza’s jaw dropped.

“Not like that! We were assigned to be partners.” Ed said.

“Oh.” Riza said and she handed Terra her pocket watch.

“I’ll see you later Mom. I’ve gotta find a good way to thank Ed and Al”

“But what did I do?” Al asked.

“Moral support.” Terri said and everyone laughed.

“Ok. I’m going to go talk to Mustang.” Riza said and she entered Mustang’s office.

“So how are you going to thank me?” Ed asked grinning.

“I don’t know. Anything you want I guess….” Terra said putting her hands behind her back and smiling politely.

“It’s ok really.” Ed and Al said waving their hands in front of their faces.

“Your part of the team now.” Al said.

“So we’re equal.” Ed said.

“If you say so….but I’m going to repay you some how.”

“Your weird.”

“You’re the one who came up with me being your partner.”

“Touché.”

“Hehe.”
